We design and manufacture a broad range of bulk materials handling machinery, in particular conveyors, elevators and ancillaries for handling foods, feeds, cereals, chemicals and many other bulk materials. Located in the market town of Spalding which has seen huge growth in recent years, the company is recognised as one of the leading engineering employers in the area.

Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Sales Director the Area Sales Manager plays a key role in the delivery of a sales and marketing strategy that will continuously improve sales of the Guttridge range of bulk handling products. The Area Sales Manager will build on the reputation for excellence that the company has enjoyed throughout its trading history. Typically, he or she will:
- Drive the sales function, working closely with the Internal Sales support team
- Dedicate 80% of time to field sales activities (including nights away from home from time to time)
- Prospect for new customers and help to formulate strategies for increasing sales
- Provide market intelligence on the state of the market, prospects, opportunities and competition
- Provide detailed reports on clients' requirements, working closely with the internal sales support and design teams to ensure that clients' needs are serviced effectively, efficiently and economically
- Arrange demonstrations for potential customers either on site or at the company's headquarters to prove machine capability/material throughput and satisfy customers' aspirations.
- Provide after sales support and backup

Experience and Skills
Articulate, literate, resourceful, personable sales professional - an excellent ambassador for the company. The technical ability to understand the features and benefits of our product range and their application across diverse industries.
The ability to identify prospective customers, analyse their needs and match those needs to our product range wherever possible.Knowledge of materials handling machinery, in particular conveyors and elevators, together with knowledge of powder handling/bulkmaterials handling in a cross-section of industries.
It is essential that this technical capability, if not already held, be acquired within a shorttime frame – training will be given.
Competent IT user. Confident with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Internet Explorer and presentation hardware and software.
Package
Remuneration & Benefits - Remuneration c.£35,000 + commission + benefits depending on relevant experience etc. A suitable car will be provided along with a hands free mobile phone, notebook computer and home fax machine.
Holidays – 23 days per year - increasing with service to 25 days per annum.
Pensions - The company operates a joint contributory pension scheme. Details will be discussed with candidates selected for final interview.
