Centreless Screw Conveyor

General
The Centreless Screw Conveyor, (often referred to as a Spiral Conveyor or Shaftless Screw Conveyor), is designed primarily for handling difficult materials. Material is conveyed by a shaftless screw or shaftless spiral with no intermediate or end bearings ensuring obstacle-free conveying. Centreless screw conveyors can be specified in either horizontal, inclined or vertical options and can provide high quality conveying up to very long distances – single troughs can be up to 50m in length. Capabilities of up to 200 cubic metres/hour are available.
Due to their unique design, Centreless Screw Conveyors have lower investment and operating costs compared to other conveying options.
Specification
The shaftless spiral will move solids through the conveyor or elevator without blockages and is an effective solution for conveying materials with the following characteristics:
- Adhesive and wet materials that have the tendency to tangle with or stick to a shafted screw conveyor (pulp materials, waste sludge, soil)
- Highly abrasive material (gravel, sand, cinder, crushed rock)
- Materials with large or mixed size particles (wood chips, biomass, paper)
- Very delicate and flowing materials (powder, chemicals, ash)
Features
- With no central shaft Centreless Screw Conveyors allow higher filling rates and low speeds, making them highly efficient, with less wear and consequently less maintenance.
- Lower investment and operating costs compared to other conveying options.
- Uncomplicated operation with no end or intermediate bearings leads to efficient and direct transfer of material and reduced maintenance.
- Custom-made installations can be designed and constructed according to our customer’s requirements.
