A specialist recycling firm is to create up to 30 new jobs as part of a relocation move to the northwest.
Nulife Glass, which specialises in the recycling of electronic materials, has announced it is to open up a new industrial plant near Salford next month, according to Crain’s Manchester Business.
The move will create much-needed jobs in the manufacturing sector opening up positions for electricians, office staff and team leaders.
The new plant will also play host to their head offices.
Colin Sinclair, chief executive of MIDAS, Manchester’s inward investment agency, said: "It is fantastic that Nulife Glass has chosen Salford as home to its new industrial plant.
"The new jobs are a significant boost to the borough and wider city region."
Employees at the site will work to develop new techniques for the safe removal of leaded glass from old televisions and computer screens.
Once removed the materials are crushed and processed to produce re-usable streams of clean, molten glass and lead.
According to Nulife Glass, both materials can then be put to immediate use as valuable raw materials, without the need for further processing, eliminating the environmental impact of the recycling process.
