A Liverpool-based animal feed plant is celebrating after securing a grant to expand its operations.
Specialist feed manufacturer B Tickle & Sons, which was established more than 150 years ago, has received a £250,000 working capital facility from NatWest bank.
According to the Liverpool Daily Post, the allocation will be used to support "seasonal increase in demand" for the firm’s products.
"Demand for its products has soared during the winter months, as many farms do not have enough grass available for use as animal feed," reports the news provider.
As the firm expands they may wish to increase its supply of animal feed machinery, drafting in additional bucket elevators, chain conveyors, belt conveyors and screw conveyors.
The family-run business, which is now managed Adam by Tickle, the fourth generation of Tickle to enter the industry, produces various products including animal feedstuffs such as pellets and coarse mixes.
Bucket elevators can be essential to provide a smooth transition of such high-volume and dense products in order to maintain maximum quality.
