Bioenergy experts from across Europe have waded into the food versus fuel debate stating there is no need to sacrifice one or the other.

According to a report in Science Business, leaders from energy related sectors across Europe have drawn up a European Bioenergy Resolution which claims that biofuel is a viable alternative to fossil and nuclear energy.

One of the advantages of bioenergy, it states, is that biomass can be produced at the same time as food through "double cropping".

This system can also provide grain product to the animal feed industry, which has been stalled somewhat in the UK due to a cold winter.

A boost to the feed industry could push up the demand for heavy-duty conveyors and en-masse elevators to cope with increased supply.

The news provider says that bioenergy has multiple applications and can be used in transport, electricity generation, heating and carbon management.

In addition, the Resolution calls for professionals across the bioenergy industry to take action, as expansion will effect all aspects of production.

Development of the fuel in European could have a positive effect on the bulk handling sector as equipment such as conveyors, screw conveyors and bucket elevators are set rolling.ADNFCR-2798-ID-19664447-ADNFCR
