Leading figures from the Australian food manufacturing sector will be seeking the expertise of their UK counterparts next week.

The consortium of companies from Down Under plan to attend the 2010 Food and Drink Expo in Birmingham in order to get a better understanding of the British market, according to ausfoodnews.com.

It is hoped the trip could create some lasting partnerships with the UK food industry and see further investment in our export market.

In addition, the news provider reveals that the Australian attendees will be looking at all aspects of food processing and considering the many benefits of British technologies and machinery such as conveyors, a vital component of the production line.

It states: "The companies will learn how to better manufacture, process, transport, store, package and sell fresher, healthier produce.

"The food industry is a global business and food science and technology is an international discipline. The UK has much to offer across the whole spectrum."

This year’s Food and Drink Expo is taking place at the Birmingham NEC from March 21st to 24h and will play host to hundreds of British and international exhibitors.
