Choosing the right packaging conveyor can help firms to boost productivity and drive down costs.
That is according to Robotics Online, which states that modern conveyors can help companies to create a sustainable packaging system, eliminating their environmental impact.
While most conveyors, it says, are modular in design – meaning that they come in readymade sections that slot together – there are benefits of selecting one of the more elaborate conveyor options.
"One commonly used module in flexible chain conveyor systems is called a curve wheel," reveals the website.
It says this type of conveyor system uses a curved wheel to reduce friction and thereby improving the safety factors associated with using a chain on a straight conveyor.
"In other words, curve wheels allow you to reduce the number of drives in an overall system and have substantially greater confidence in the integrity of the chain in long-term operation," comments Robotics Online.
