A British brewer is defying the trend in pub closure by adding a fifth property to its estate.
Titanic Brewery, which is based in Stoke-on-Trent, has acquired the Sun Inn in Stafford for an undisclosed sum.
Brothers Dave and Keith Bott, who joint manage the firm, have pledged to keep the name of the venue unchanged after a long battle to see the return of its original title was recently won by the previous owner.
Dave Bott said: "It was always the Sun and we like the provenance and so will keep the old name," reports the Publican.
Founded in Burslem in 1985, the brewer has gone from strength to strength and is now thriving at a time when many pubs face hardship and closure.
"From humble beginnings, Titanic Brewery has grown beyond all expectations to produce in excess of 1.7 million pints of fine ale every year," stated the company.
It claims to have found success through operating in a way that has limited environmental impact to produce a product that is natural and "in moderation can have health benefits".
