Sales of hoppers could be boosted significantly this year as the major political parties outline visions for Britain’s food future.
Launching its party manifesto, 50 steps to a future fair for all, Labour today unveiled plans to strengthen the UK’s food industry.
It withheld that its main aim was to "ensure fairness for food producers" across the country, which it would achieve through reform in the European Union.
The party also plans to introduce a Supermarkets Ombudsman who would oversee competition in the industry and enforce legislation surrounding issues such as food labelling.
Developing the UK’s food sector could result in increased demand for machinery such as hoppers and flexible bulk containers if the nation’s export capacity is extended.
In addition, the party also pledged to offer support to pubs in rural communities, which could be good news to those involved in the brewing and distillery markets.
The other major political parties have also paid tribute to Britain’s flourishing food market in their election manifestos.
