The staging of Sheffield’s first ever Food Festival could bring increased custom the region.
Due to get underway in June, the event will honour the borough’s fruitful food manufacturing industry with a series of events, the Yorkshire Evening Post reports.
One of the highlights includes a musical performance and business seminar with Levi Roots, who launched the now ubiquitous Reggae Reggae Sauce following an appearance on the BBC’s business show Dragons’ Den.
Local food supplier Eddie Andrews, who heads the family-run firm Our Cow Molly, told the news provider the festival is a great way to highlight the potential of the region.
"There are so many great food producers who operate in our city, and because you don’t find a lot of their produce on supermarket shelves, not everyone knows what is available to them," he commented.
Sheffield Food Festival is just one of a number of events taking place this summer which could lead to increased demand for British produce.
