A Scottish food company has unveiled a bespoke line of luxury deserts in a bid to boost its annual turnover.

Macphie of Glenbervie launched its DevilShh range at the Taste of Grampian festival over the weekend, the Press and Journal reports.

The line, which includes creme brulee, panna cotta and creme caramel, as well as a number of sauce toppings, forms part of the firm’s ambitions to double annual turnover to more than £80million in the next decade.

Commercial director Ronnie Leggett told the news provider DevilShh will be the first of many new product lines.

"There will be an ongoing development of the brand. It is focused on desserts so it opens up the possibility of limited editions and seasonal products, accompanied by different sauces and fruit coulis," he explained, outlining the potential for growth.

Expanding the business could create new employment opportunities as well as creating a demand for powder handling and storage machinery to be used in food processing sites.
