Yet another of Britain’s baking businesses has revealed that it is going from strength-to-strength.

In an interview with the Mirror, Allison Whitmarsh, co-owner of ProperMaid in Yorkshire, said that the company is baking around the clock, having recently signed a contract to supply Asda with two of its products.

In the near future, customers of the supermarket giant will be able to get their hands on sticky fudge and dandelion and burdock cakes, which are produced by the family-run firm in Huddersfield.

Ms Whitmarsh, whose company this year won Huddersfield’s New Business Of The Year award, acknowledges that she has come a long way in her 20-year career in the food industry

Offering advice to other food manufacturers, she told the news provider that a passion for fresh produce has lain at the heart of her ambitions.

ProperMaid’s commercial success comes at a time when baking firms across the county seem to be reporting strength in their businesses.

National food firms Warburton’s and Greggs both recently posted positive profits for the current financial year.
