The World Cup could provide a welcome boost for the brewing industry as beer sales increase during the tournament.
Mark Hunter, Molson Coors UK chief executive, predicts lager sales will rise by mid-single-digit figures over the course of the next month.
Sales could rise even further if England progress to the latter stages of the showpiece event.
"With my business head on the longer England can stay in the World Cup, the better. And if the sun shines at the same time, I can feel a little more relaxed," Mr Hunter told the Telegraph.
The news will also be well-received by pubs and off-licenses who have seen sales drop as more consumers choose to purchase their alcohol from supermarkets.
Meanwhile, recent research from the Campaign for Real Ale found that British-brewed beers are now the most popular choice for consumers.
The report highlights the continued demand for ale in the UK, which could significantly increase the production rate.
