UK bakery firm Hayden’s Bakeries has expanded its premises in Wiltshire.
Hayden’s, who supply goods to Waitrose and Marks & Spencer, will add 30,000sq ft to its present 74,000sq ft site, reports bakeryinfo.co.uk.
The expansion will create 150 jobs over three years within all aspects of the business, including IT and factory-level.
The move could increase demand for baking equipment as production levels rise.
Paul Smith, managing director of the firm, claimed the company are ideally placed to expand its operations.
He told the website: “We have strong new product development and will hopefully be producing some cutting-edge new products for the premium end of the chilled dessert market, particularly for Waitrose.”
Sales have increased by 30 per cent compared to two years ago, with Mr Smith claiming the recession has meant more people stay in and eat at home.
