McDonalds is to highlight its dependence on UK and Irish farming in a new marketing campaign.

The fast food chain is to release a set of adverts which focus on its relationship with the farming industry, according to Marketing Week.

The campaign, which will be entitled “That’s What Makes McDonald’s”, could serve as positive advertising for the UK and Irish farming industry on the whole.

Jill McDonald, chief marketing officer for the UK and Northern Europe, said that the campaign would highlight the quality of the farming industry, which in turn will boost the saleability of the restaurant’s food.

She told Marketing Week: “With this commercial we honour two things which are unmistakably British: unpredictable weather and first-rate farming.

“This is the next chapter in our ongoing campaign to drive awareness of the care and attention that our supply chain puts into producing McDonald’s food.”
