Warburtons has changed the dates listed on its products in a bid to prevent consumer confusion.
All of the firm’s bakery produce will no longer carry a display until date and will now only detail a best-before date.
The move could help customers who were bemused by the two-date system to clearly understand the shelf-life of goods.
A Warburtons spokesman said: “We have made this move based on customer feedback and the fact that some confusion existed with consumers on the use of display-until dates.
“Warburtons remains committed to baking high-quality, fresh bakery products and we hope this change will make it clearer for consumers buying bakery products in-store.”
With increased consumer confidence, sales of Warburtons goods could rise and thereby increase the demand for machinery.
