A recently formed Yorkshire-based brewery is looking to triple its turnover over the next four years.

WharfeBank Brewery sells 100 casks of ale a week to local pubs and will post a first-year turnover in excess of £250,000 if sales continue at their current rate.

The firm claim they can build on their present success and record a turnover of £750,000 by 2014, reports thetelegraphandargus.co.uk.

Martin Kellaway, the founder of WharfeBank, claimed the firm’s ambitious expansion plans will not be compromised by local competition.

He told the news provider: “I don’t believe it’s a risk. Good companies will prosper, even in a competitive business.

“We have got a team with both youth and experience. We want to produce great products with great branding.”

Increased brewery production could serve to increase uptake of industry machinery.

WharfeBank are hoping to sell its goods to supermarkets and the export market by next year.
