cling initiative has been launched which could help boost recycling rates in Cardiff.

Coca-Cola has teamed up with Wrap, an organisation dedicated to improving recycling across the UK, to construct a recycling area at the national history museum at St Fagans, reports walesonline.co.uk.

The Recycle Zone contains bins and infrastructure designed to make it easier for consumers to recycle waste at popular locations across the UK.

Beth Winkley, programme manager for Wrap Cymru, claimed the new area will help increase recycling rates in the region.

She told the news provider: “Wrap is involved in Recycle Zone to ensure recycling is an easy day-to-day habit rather than a chore and the St Fagans Zone will ensure visitors to this top attraction in Cardiff can join residents in recycling their plastic bottles and cans.”

The potential boost to recycling figures in Cardiff could result in an increased demand for recycling machinery.

There are a number of Recycle Zones located at major UK attractions including Alton Towers, Chessington World of Adventures and the London Eye.
