
g industry could be boosted by the publicity generated from the Great British Beer Festival award ceremony.
Nottingham-based Castle Rock Brewery won the best beer in Britain prize for its Harvest Pale golden ale, but a host of breweries could also benefit from the event.
Timothy Taylor Landlord and Surrey Hills Hammer Mild were among the other winners at the show, as they picked up silver and bronze medals respectively in the same category.
Castle Rock director Chris Holmes said: “We’ve won dozens of awards over the past five to six years. But the best moments have been since our new brewer, Adrian Redgrove, who started four years ago, began producing high quality, consistent beer.”
Production is expected to increase for all those involved in the ceremony, while Castle Rock is set to move into expanded premises next month.
The firm currently produces around 110 barrels of beer a week but aims to triple its capacity at the new facility.
