The worldwide demand for agricultural machinery is set to rise, it has been revealed.

Market research firm Bharat Book Bureau has found that demand will increase by 4.5 per cent a year until 2014.

Developing countries such as China and India are predicted to require the most farming machinery as their agricultural industries are still largely based on manpower.

Furthermore, as their economies and populations grow, both countries will begin to require more food supplies in order to cope with increased consumption rates.

According to the report, developed nations are likely to upgrade their current machinery rather than purchase new equipment as farm numbers are expected to remain constant.

Farming sectors in the UK and US are predicted to use more modern equipment which uses global positioning systems and wireless sensors in a bid to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Typical Guttridge equipment used in the farming industry includes: elevatorsbucket elevatorsvalves
