Flour millers could be set to benefit from new software which promises to improve the efficiency of the milling process.

Farming equipment provider Perten Instruments has released its Flour Milling Calibration Package for the firm's electronic analysis device, the DA 7200 NIR Analysis System.

The new software will assist flour millers to analyse the quality of wheat, flour, ingredients and by-products in a single package.

This software enables users to test incoming grain and additives yields against set specifications to test its quality and ensure it meets specific standards.

Millers can also test the quality of finished flour and by-products, while Perten Instruments insist the package can optimise the milling process as all stages are accurately monitored.

Quality parameters can also be inputted into the package to determine the standard of produce which is affected by external influences such as moisture, starch damage and water absorption.
