Production of animal feed in Belfast is set to rise following the opening of a new mill in the city.
Farming co-operative Fane Valley has opened the £18 million facility in County Tyrone following six years of development, reports The Belfast Telegraph.
It represents another boost for the sector following the recent surge in feed prices as a result of the drop in wheat exports from Russia and Ukraine.
Trevor Lockhart, chief executive of Fane Valley, expressed his belief that the new plant is a "win-win scenario for Omagh".
He told the news provider: "It represents both a significant investment boost for the town and it will help to improve the area. The new plant will be multi-species in nature and have an annual compounding capacity of 300,000 tonnes."
The development of the mill will ensure the 40-strong workforce at the old site in Omagh will not lose their jobs as they are set to be transferred to the new plant.
