Molston Coors brewery in Burton-on-Trent has completed a major overhaul of its control systems, synchronising all of its manufacturing processes.

According to Process Engineer, the brewery wanted to ensure that all of its processes are protected from unnecessary risks that could prevent a breakdown in production.

In addition, the upgrade of the control systems will also allow the brewery to diversify its produce, enabling the stainless steel containers and mixers to switch easily to working new recipes.

More than 200 command pages have now been synchronised, affecting filtration liners, yeast propagation and routing of the finished produce to the packaging facilities.

Molson Coors Manufacturing Business Systems manager Mick Holden told the publication that the whole process ran smoothly and has exceeded expectations for efficiency.

Brewery giant SAB Miller recently suggested that drinks manufacturers could soon move onto ships, to allow them to float away from countries experiencing drought conditions.
