International Innovative Technology is confident that its new bulk materials milling technology will meet the requirements of processing firms.
The UK-based company's managing director, George Ordi, underlined the cost effectiveness of its milling technology in an interview with Materials Handling World magazine.
He told the publication: "Turning the scrap into a fine powder means it can be economically reduced to a fine powder for recycling in the batch mix and other applications.
"Similarly, in the construction sector, we have successfully turned surplus limestone waste into a powdered product that can be used as a cement replacement."
Earlier this month, British Plastics Federation director-general Peter Davis warned that increases in the price and availability of raw materials is putting pressure on UK manufacturers.
He warned that rises in the costs of energy are also putting pressure on factory operations, especially owing to problems experienced during the bad winter weather, which affected production in some cases.
